  • Debra A. Cole: The Top

The line that got me... before it even GOT me... was she "smelled like Butterscotch." How lovely. This charming, two-hander for seasoned actors is delightful. Nostalgic. Powerful. Touching... and Hopeful. JUST LOVELY. Any shot play festival would be lucky to produce it.

Oh, I adore this 2-minute horror play by ANJ MARIE RIFFEL. It needs to be produced in a short play festival. I may even produce it myself. It is genius, Breaking the 4th wall can be powerful in horror. BOO!

Dark times yield dark scripts for playwrights needing a place to process. JAXSON MACKLING puts it all out on the table. HATE has no place there... here... anywhere. Thank you.

  • Debra A. Cole: Ophelia, Athena, What's the Difference?

What a FABULOUS retelling of Ophelia using the original text and more modern references as a jumping off point. Shakespeare might have been the BOMB during his timeframe, but BRENT ALLES gives The Bard a run for his money with this new version!

Stunningly beautiful and tender. What starts with a court date due to parking tickets, turns into a love story for the ages. JUST BEAUTIFUL.

ADORABLE! What a fabulous short play for elementary school to employ as a part of their daily announcements. Hey, RYAN VAUGHAN... I think you've hit on a REALLY GREAT idea... interested in collaborating on an entire series of these babies??? Schools will love them!

HILARIOUS! LISA DELLAGIARINO FERIEND has written the perfect short comedy! There are so many lines that had me ACTUALLY LOLing, but one of my favorites was, "Rosa Parks would let that door close." As Holly said, so problematic, but so clever. This relationship will charm audiences and make them bake a few cakes and fold a few bees themselves to help the cause... the real cause... the one that matters at this moment.

Go, QUEEN BEE! KIERAN KHANA's short play 37 ORIGAMI BEES is all about love, trust, and BEElieving in yourself the way others believe in you. The costumes alone would captive an audience. Lovely.

WHAT IS HER WISH? Shelly truly made an effort, and her commitment to this relationship, although misguided, is evident as BRADY is left wondering what she really wants. What a creative approach to the simple title prompt of 37 ORIGAMI BEES. Am I wrong to worry for these two?

Sappy love, serial killers, AND ridiculous humor? COUNT ME IN! BRENT ALLES treats audiences to a new classic for Valentine's Day. Actors will enjoy the over the top physicality of this hilarious short play. BON APPETITO... that's Italian...not French.
