  • Debra A. Cole: Second Book Syndrome

I cannot say enough how much I adore SECOND BOOK SYNDROME by SAM HEYMAN.
What an absolutely brilliant look at the life of an author and his characters. I was hooked from the very first scene and wanted these characters to find their way to the second book. I truly hope a passionate theatre picks this up and brings it to life... again?

  • Debra A. Cole: The Bench

A magical moment in time… we all have them. This bench holds the love and memories that change lives. Such an absolutely beautiful monologue.

  • Debra A. Cole: Refracted Light

I had the pleasure of hearing this moving piece read at a recent playwriting ZOOM. DANA HALL has created the perfect balance of humor and tension as a family deals with change, history, and the unknown future. So many parents of graduating students will relate to REFRACTED LIGHT, no matter what changes their families have experienced. DANA truly understands the art of dialogue - just wonderful.

  • Debra A. Cole: Autumn's Fall

I see you, Autumn. You're NOT at the FALL stage yet, and neither am I. I'm with you, girl. What an honor is was to hear this ready at our weekly playwriting ZOOM session. Aging takes strength, grace, and a little work trying to maintain dignity that is often not given at first glance. BRAVO, CHRISTOPHER PLUMRIDGE.

  • Debra A. Cole: For a Man Your Age

I had the pleasure of hearing this come to life in our weekly playwriting ZOOM group. HOW ABSOLUTE DELIGHTFUL is this short play by Donald E. Baker. Aging is tough, and it hits some of us in the gut when we least expect it. I can't wait for my copy of BAKER'S DOZEN to arrive from NEXT STAGE PRESS this summer!

  • Debra A. Cole: Wayward Seniors

I had the pleasure of hearing this read at our weekly playwriting ZOOM group. I would LOVE to end up where Alma is spending her golden years. Not what her son wanted, but this place is PERFECT for Alma. REX MCGREGOR knows how to spin a colorful yarn that will delight audience OF ALL AGES!

  • Debra A. Cole: Cracked Actor

We had the honor of hearing this read at our weekly playwriting ZOOM group this week. GEORGE SAPIO is a master of what is concealed and what unfolds at just the right time. MANY actors/actresses will connect with this piece.

  • Debra A. Cole: Gruesome Gift

What a treat this was to hear read at a Sunday playwriting group. REX MCGREGOR knows how to slowly give detail after detail until finally, the audience sees the whole picture. BRILLIANT. I felt myself screaming back at the scene the immortal words for the Brad Pitt masterpiece Seven... WHAT'S IN THE BOX????

  • Debra A. Cole: Just Breathe

I was honored to hear this read in a Sunday playwriting group. So many will connect to feel like something is not clicking... not from a lack of trying. Jaxson comes at this with true honesty and raw emotion.

  • Debra A. Cole: Sorry I'm Late

I was lucky to see DANA perform this wonderful comedic monologue on Youtube. Wonderful. Dana has a true gift for natural dialogue, delightful humor, and very human moments that come to life through her writing.
