  • Debra A. Cole: The Kiss

Brilliant…. But that is par for the course when engaging with the works of George Sapio. A simple historic photo suddenly feels real and poignant… in an entirely new way in this wonderful short piece.

  • Debra A. Cole: Another Ring in Hell

    Timely. Tragic. Real.

LEE R. LAWING has given a strong voice to the pain felt by the devastated islanders.

  • Debra A. Cole: FAMILY DINNER

Yep. We all have an IGGY inside our of heads, and they show up at exactly times like this. What fun this would be to perform. A perfect one-minute play.

  • Debra A. Cole: Playing on the Periphery: Monologues and Scenes For and About Queer Kids

I had the true honor of attending a performance of this in Kansas City, Missouri with WHIM PRODUCTIONS.

SCOTT SICKLES' characters Daphne, Bertram, Zoey, and Robert are queer kids learning to navigate a complicated and often unkind world, but together, they create pure magic in their support and love of one another.

Although the monologues and scenes could stand alone, it is their running threads that makes them pure genius. Audiences are moved by the honesty of children and the ability to create family wherever it is safe and supported.

  • Debra A. Cole: Like A Potted Plant, a monologue

Consistency. Everyone, including plants, needs it. SAM HEYMAN has shared the voice of a worker who has had enough and refuses to be silent about his/her/their needs. Sunlight... Water... Peace... We all need it.

  • Debra A. Cole: I'm A Fire Sign (But I Take Medication For That)

SAM HEYMAN has written a beautiful monologue of self-discovery with I'M A FIRE SIGN (BUT I TAKE MEDICATION FOR THAT). As a Cancer myself...a water sign... I feel everything, but with this, I TRULY FEEL audiences, of all signs, will truly relate to the inner fire that burns in all of us.

  • Debra A. Cole: Whoa! (a monologue)

SCOTT SICKLES gives us a private moment of revelation, not meant for our consumption, that is both awkward and tender. The beauty of discovery is real in this private monologue that will have audiences talking. JUST LOVELY.

  • Debra A. Cole: THE FIRST PANCAKE

I adore this clever, raw, and uncomfortable one minute. The title is genius, and the back and forth is perfection. Bravo, ADAM RICHTER!

  • Debra A. Cole: Showers

What an absolutely haunting piece of theatre. For some, safety comes from not taking chances... not going outside... This mother and daughter are caught in a loop of safety that is truly devastating. Wonderful work, RACHEL FEENY-WILLIAMS.

  • Debra A. Cole: Ghosts

Yes. Yes. Yes. This female driven short crime drama will have audiences gasping. No spoilers... but just know... this is a wonderful read and needs to be on the stage.
