Matthew Weaver's plays are always disarming and full of surprises, and Yellow Cardinal is no different. But on top of the twisty, exclamation point ending, the piece slyly has a lot to say about relationships. A great introduction to a writer with so much to offer.

The search for identity and meaning that's at the center of the piece offers no simple solutions, instead, it gives the reader/audience insight into the existential challenges of living in-between two cultures. Naturalistic, lyrical and truly unforgettable writing.
