  • Debra A. Cole: an open letter to parents who send their boys to summer camp

STUNNING. This poetic 2-minute monologue by WREN AUBREY LATHAM is sublime. LATHAM goes to the heart of what we are doing to boys... and girls... in society. The language is true perfection. BRAVA.

  • Debra A. Cole: GURL TALK by Deb Meyer

DEB MEYER has taken the inner thoughts of many women and given it comic life for the stage. Nikki is just the friend Ashley needs. The lively banter between these two will be a treat for actresses.

  • Debra A. Cole: The Assignment

A fabulous response to an absolutely RIDICULOUS prompt! I feel Sarah. I feel her frustration, her crushed soul, and her ultimate defiance. RACHEL FEENY-WILLIAMS masterfully puts words to the agony playwrights often feel when given constraints on imagination. Stretching is good - annihilation is just wrong. Go get’em, Rachel.

  • Debra A. Cole: Person (A Monologue)

Truth. Rachel’s anthem to being human would be a treat to any actor, any gender, any ethnicity, any ability, and/or any belief system. I am a person, and I would love to see this piece come to life on any stage.

  • Debra A. Cole: SOLID GOLD (2 minute monologue)

VIVIAN LERMOND has written a monologue for a seasoned actress to sink her teeth into… hopefully still her own. These two minute ps remind audiences just because we age, doesn’t mean we still can’t get down. Priceless.

  • Debra A. Cole: Death of Stand Up

Fabulous approach to a tough prompt. Good news: comedy may be dead, but satire is alive and well with MARILYN OLLETT’s writing!

  • Debra A. Cole: Bonded in Incel

Wow... I would hate to see RACHEL REENY-WILLIAMS' google search in preparation of this new short play. The scenario she creates in BONDED IN INCEL is truly horrifying. The hatred for women is far from hidden as an older man guides a younger man in search of answers. If the prompt is to write something that offends... then RACHEL has nailed it. Audiences will feel this one in their guts. Excellent!

  • Debra A. Cole: Stocks and Bonds

Priceless. You'll read it once... and then read it again! I NEED TO SEE THIS ON STAGE!!!!

  • Debra A. Cole: A Daffodilly-Ding-Dong

CHRISTOPHER PLUMRIDGE had me at the first stage instructions, "All daffodils have their heads down, as the lights slowly come up, so do their heads, not all together, at their own speed." This charming short play for children is pure joy. Friends are wonderful, but sometimes we need to pull up our root and move to truly grow. LOVELY.

  • Debra A. Cole: I'd do anything for love (but I won't do that)

Four teens, alone in a cemetery, telling ghost stories with plans to raise the dead... WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG? RACHEL has once again created a fascinating world with deep and full characters in just a few pages... and to think it all came from a simple prompt. High school thespians would love to bring these characters to life, and the lights and prop people would enjoy every minute of it too!
