There is absolutely NO HOPE for this couple. Lovers break up all the time for a variety of reasons: differences in religion, different life goals, uneven effort, but this/these reasons are something that can't be fixed through therapy. Although I would LOVE to hear these two in a therapy session. BETHANY DICKENS ASSAF has given us a glimpse into what might be the most honest couple I have every encountered... well, at least one of the pair that is.

What an absolutely beautiful two-hander for two strong women. Women have the best stories to tell - both these characters AND AUDREY WEBB. Webb gently unfolds a powerful story that is full of grace, loss, community, and love. Just beautiful.

Given my art history background, I find myself greatly amused by DANA HALL's short piece NO MORE FLOWERS. I adore the idea of FREUD throwing his theories upon O'KEEFFE, just as many viewers do when examining her work. Is he right? Who knows, but sometimes a flower is just a flower, and O'KEEFFE has had enough of the patriarchal lens. Brilliant.

Poor DeVon... just a lonely, hungry, and misunderstood creature. DEB MEYER gives us a new look at an old friend... well... enemy. I love a fractured fairy tale, and Meyer delivers with tenderness and compassion.

Holy moly... this one had me at the edge of my seat from the very first line. MICHELE CLARKE has created a world that no one ever wants to experience. Throughout the tension, the pain, and the unknown, the one thing audiences know for sure is that LOVE is guiding every single moment and action at the bottom of the ravine. This stellar two-hander will have radio listeners chilled to the bone.

Oh, how I adore this quirky short piece by JACQUELYN FLOYD-PRISKORN. Olivia mysteriously finds herself in The Darkensss, a place she currently knows very well yet not at all. The use of humor and kind wisdom, from a very odd source, is the key to Olivia finding her way back to life. JUST THE RIGHT KIND OF WRONG.

What a powerful piece about intellect, family, mental health, and reality. Academia is the literal and symbolic world we find ourselves, as Jackson and his inner voices take us on a journey of true self discovery. Heartbreaking but ultimately hopeful.

Pre-op waiting rooms are the worst. Every anxiety ridden thought races through your brain, but at least you know the medical staff is calm, well-trained, and professional. Howard is having a very different reality. JEAN CIAMPI has written a fabulous short piece layered with real human emotions and GREAT OPPORTUNITIES for physical comedy. Audiences will love it and be scared to death.

HILARIOUS! This monologue would be a true gift to any actor with even an ounce of comedic timing! AMBER R. DICKINSON has an immense talent for pacing, dialogue, and imagery. Somebody grab this monologue and perform it... QUICKLY!

Brilliant. I adore the humor in ROBERT J. LEBLANC's writing. Clean - natural - pointed. Heartworm is a wonderful piece about getting up and making things happen, even when our brains tell us to freeze. Everyone needs a best friend, even if it's man's best friend, to give up a kick in the butt. The last line: PRICELESS.
