CRAYON SUN

by Tlaloc Rivas

CRAYON SUN is an elegy inspired by the events of Uvalde, TX. The play follows two children, Valoria and Mando, whose playful innocence is shattered by the harsh realities of the world. As they grapple with the question, "Why is this happening?" their story draws us into a poignant, emotional journey that challenges both heart and mind.

  • Premiere Stages at Kean University: CRAYON SUN

Premiere Stages, the professional Equity theatre company in residence at Kean University, is pleased to recognize CRAYON SUN as a Semi-Finalist for the 2025 Premiere Play Festival. CRAYON SUN rose through a competitive process conducted by Premiere staff and an external panel of professionals to become distinguished among 805 submissions. The panel was impressed the play's simple beauty, and how the innocence crumbles when tragic, senseless evil strikes. Our congratulations and thanks to Tlaloc.
